· The club was formed in 1988 and we're recognized by the British Sub-Aqua Club as Branch Number 1615.· We have around 45 members whose qualifications range from new trainees to Advanced Divers and Instructors. Over 40% of our members are women, a family orientated club.· The BSAC has some 45,000 members in more than 1,000 branches which makes it the largest single diving Club in the world· The club is a registered member of the Community Amateur Sports Clubs |

Pool Training
|

|
We meet and train every week. Training is in the form of practical lessons and tests in the pool or classroom theory lessons and exams. · Our normal venue is Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre and we meet on Tuesday evenings between 8pm-9pm followed by a de-brief at "The White Horse". |

Social Occasions

|
· Many other social events take place throughout the year including Fun Nights, Ten Pin Bowling, Conker Nights, BBQ's, annual award presentation nights and Christmas meals. |

Welfare | ||
Prima Sub Aqua Adopts the “Welfare of Vulnerable People” policy
instituted by BSAC & to that end has appointed a Welfare Officer & all
instructors are CRB checked.

Membership

|
The minimum age for learning to dive with the Prima is 14. Members below 18 year old should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Full Diving membership fees include:- · BS-AC Membership· Access to BS-AC Coaching scheme· Extensive liability insurance· 12 Monthly copies of DIVE Magazine· All swimming pool fees· All training by nationally qualified instructors· Use of pool SCUBA training equipment

Any person joining as or upgrading to the grade of instructor will be required to have a CRB check in accordance with The British Sub-Aqua Club “Welfare of Vulnerable People” Policy.

Dive Training and Skill Development

Learning to dive is easy. The only requirements are to pass a basic sports medical questionnaire and a minimum age limit is 14 years. Our training scheme follows the qualification structure published by the British Sub-Aqua Club and we have divers with the following grades. · Trainee· Ocean Diver· Sports Diver· Dive Leader· Advanced Diver· Assistant Instructor· Club Instructor· Open Water InstructorAll training courses are backed up with comprehensive training manuals. |

Dive Training Equipment

We are able to provide all new trainee members with a full set of personal diving equipment for use throughout the whole of the Ocean Diver course. We own 6 full sets of SCUBA training equipment. These sets include:-· 10 & 12 litre cylinders· Buoyancy Compensators· Regulators, Contents Gauges· Octopus Alternative Air Supplies· Masks, Snorkels & fins (Various sizes)· Weight belts |
